Certificate of Completion
Become a licensed Electrician in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Wentworth's Journeyman Electrician program is an accelerated, four-course sequence designed to meet the 600-hour academic classroom educational requirements of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for the Journeyman Electrician License. A variety of theoretical and applied concepts will be covered in each course, with the overarching intent of preparing to pass the Journeyman Electrician License Exam. Each class will devote a significant portion of time covering the Massachusetts Electrical Code.
Please Note: Wentworth’s program provides the 600 hours of required classroom instruction focused on code, theory, and safety — the curriculum you need to be eligible for the state electrician exam. This is primarily delivered in a traditional classroom setting, with occasional lab sessions.
We do not provide the 8,000 hours of on-the-job training required by the state. You’ll need to secure that experience separately by working full-time under a licensed electrician. See FAQs for more information.

- Theory - Using the workbook and various handouts the students will master “DC & AC theory”. They will be able to understand Ohm’s law, series, parallel, and combination circuit calculations, thus leading to the understanding of voltage drop and the sizing of conductors.

These exam concepts are primarily delivered in a traditional classroom setting, with occasional lab sessions.
